In some instances it may be desirable for the user and the expert to be present at the same time, however it is not necessary.
Training can be another function of RMS. Sometimes new and unfamiliar applications can seem like a series of brick walls to the new untrained user. Remote training sessions can be set up where the trainer and the trainee are actually seeing the same screen. This allows for some practical experience, as opposed to merely reading a computer manual. Since the training is effective and efficient, the new user quickly becomes adept at the new application.
